Chandigarh High Court Reader Selection Process


The selection process for Reader (Legal) posts includes the following stages:
  1. Written Examination (250 Marks)
    • English Composition : 50 Marks
    • Civil Law : 100 Marks
    • Criminal Law : 100 Marks
    • Each paper will be of 3 hours duration. Minimum qualifying marks: 50% in English, 40% in each of Civil and Criminal Law papers.

  2. Computer Proficiency Test (Qualifying Only)
    • Word Processing Test (Typing) – 10 Marks
    • Spreadsheet Test – 10 Marks
    • Candidates must score 40% marks in each part to qualify.
  3. Viva-Voce (30 Marks)
    • Minimum qualifying marks : 35%
  4. Final Merit will be based on Written + Viva-Voce (Computer Test is qualifying only).
    • Minimum aggregate required : 50%
