UPPSC Professor & Assistant Professor Eligibility Criteria

Post	General Qualification Pattern
Professor	Relevant postgraduate medical degree (MD/MS/DNB/DM/M.Ch. as applicable to the specialty), plus 3 years' experience as Associate Professor in the subject in a recognised medical institution (or equivalent alternative routes specified per specialty, e.g. Specialist Medical Officer of Armed Forces, Senior Consultant with NBE-recognised twaching experience), plus at least 2 research publications after becoming Associate Professor (as first three authors) and completion of the Basic Course in Biomedical Research.
Assistant Professor	Relevant postgraduate medical degree (MD/MS/DNB/DM/M.Ch. as applicable to the specialty), plus 1 year as Senior Resident in the concerned subject after obtaining the degree (or equivalent alternative routes specified per specialty, e.g. Tutor/Demonstrator experience, Specialist Medical Officer of Armed Forces, non-teaching Consultant with 2 years' experience in a 220+ bed Government hospital, or diploma holders with specified years of Senior Resident/Specialist experience). How to Apply?
OTR Registration : Complete One Time Registration (OTR) and obtain your OTR Number at the UPPSC OTR portal at least 72 hours before applying. Visit UPPSC : Go to the UPPSC website → All Notifications/Advertisements → select the relevant advertisement → Apply. OTR Authentication : Enter your OTR Number and authenticate through OTP/OTR password; your registered personal details will be auto-filled. Submit Details : Open Applicant Dashboard → Application Part-2 → Submit Details, verify your details and enter/select the required qualification and preferential qualifications. Pay Fee : Proceed to the SBI payment window and pay the applicable fee through Net Banking, Card Payment or Other Payment Modes; save the transaction slip. Final Submission : After successful fee payment, download/print the completed online application form and keep it safely for future reference. Send Documents : Send the printed application form with self-attested copies of required academic/supporting documents by registered/speed post or by hand to the Commission. Selection Process
1. Eligibility/Scrutiny → 2. Screening Examination → 3. Interview → 4. Final Merit/Selection → 5. Document Verification 1. Eligibility/Scrutiny : Candidates must satisfy the prescribed educational qualification, experience and other eligibility conditions; merely possessing the minimum qualification does not guarantee an interview call or selection. 2. Screening Examination : UPPSC may conduct an objective-type Screening Examination to shortlist suitable candidates for interview; only candidates qualifying as per the Commission's standard proceed to the interview. 3. Interview : Candidates qualifying the Screening Examination are called for Interview; the Commission decides the standard/eligibility for admission to interview. 4. Final Merit/Selection : Final merit is prepared by combining 75% weightage of Screening Examination marks + 25% weightage of Interview marks. 5. Document Verification : Candidates must produce/submit the required application printout, self-attested certificates and marksheets; failure to provide required documents or appear for verification can lead to cancellation of candidature. Minimum Screening Standard : SC/ST candidates need at least 35%, while candidates of other categories need at least 40% in the Screening Examination; candidates below the applicable minimum are disqualified and cannot be placed in the merit/select list. In short :Screening Exam (75%) → Interview (25%) → Final Merit/Selection → Document Verification.
