Nationality & Qualification

• Nationality

• 1. A candidate must be either:
  • 1.1. a citizen of India, or
  • 1.2. a subject of Nepal, or
  • 1.3. a subject of Bhutan.
• 2. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories 1.2 and 1.3 above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
• 3. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary will be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.

• Qualification

• For the post of Sub Inspector (GD) in Delhi Police & CAPFs : A candidate must have Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognised University.
• For the post of Sub Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police (Males only) : Male candidates must possess a valid driving licence for LMV (motorcycle and car) as of the date fixed for physical endurance and standard tests. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to undergo physical endurance and standard tests.
• For SI Fire in CISF : A bachelor's degree in science with physics, chemistry and mathematics from a recognised university or equivalent; OR
  • Matriculation or equivalent along with a three-year diploma in mechanical, civil, electrical, automobile, chemical, mining, aeronautical or telecommunication engineering, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university/board/institution.

How to Apply?

• Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) : Visit the official website at https://ssc.gov.in to register, noting that OTRs from the old portal will not function.

• Provide OTR Details : Enter basic personal information, contact info, and matriculation examination details, ensuring your name and date of birth match your 10th-grade certificate.

• Set Up Password : Log in using the system-generated credentials sent via mobile/email and follow the prompts to create a new secure password.

• Fill Additional Details : Provide category, nationality, visible identification marks, disability details (if applicable), and permanent/present addresses.

• Finalize Registration : Review your draft details thoroughly, click "Final Submit", and verify using the OTP sent to your mobile number or email.

• Access Application Module : Log into your account on the new website or via the 'mySSC' mobile app, navigate to the examination section, and select the apply link for the Sub-Inspector examination.

• Complete Live Photograph Capture : Position yourself in front of your device camera in a well-lit area with a plain background, ensuring your face is fully within the frame without caps, masks, or glasses (unless using Aadhaar-based authentication).

• Upload Scanned Signature : Upload your signature in JPEG format with dimensions of approximately 6.0 cm width by 2.0 cm height and a file size between 10 KB to 20 KB.

• Pay Application Fee : Submit the required fee of Rs. 100/- via online payment modes like BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Debit Card (women, SC, ST, and eligible Ex-Servicemen are exempt).

• Preview and Submit : Check all fields through the preview option to ensure data accuracy before final submission, and take a printout of the application form for your records.

Selection Process

• Step 1 : Computer Based Examination (Paper-I) - Candidates must appear for Paper-I consisting of objective multiple-choice questions across four parts (General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension) with a sectional timer and negative marking.

• Step 2 : Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Endurance Test (PET) - Candidates who qualify Paper-I are shortlisted to undergo mandatory, qualifying physical standard measurements (height and chest) and physical endurance tests (racing, long jump, high jump, shot put), with exemptions from PET for Ex-Servicemen.

• Step 3 : Computer Based Examination (Paper-II) - Candidates who successfully clear the PST and PET stages are eligible to appear for Paper-II, which features advanced testing in the same four subjects with a higher difficulty level and specific focus on English Comprehension.

• Step 4 : Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and Review Medical Examination (RME) - Qualified candidates from Paper-II proceed to a mandatory medical examination by designated medical officers, followed by a Review Medical Examination for anyone found temporarily or initially unfit.

• Step 5 : Document Verification (DV) - Conducted by the CAPFs (preferably alongside the DME/RME stage), candidates must present original and copied certificates verifying their education, category, identity, and other claimed relaxations.

• Step 6 : Post Preferences Submission - Prior to final results, candidates must submit their final, irreversible order of preference for various organizations and posts (such as Delhi Police or specific CAPFs) through an online option form.

• Step 7 : Final Selection and Allocation - Final merit lists, post allocations, and ultimate selection are determined based on candidates' normalized performance scores in Paper-II (including any applicable NCC bonus marks) matched against their submitted post preferences and category rules.
