Age Relaxation
The applicant must fulfill the age requirement as on 01 July, 2026. The upper age is relaxable (a) by 5 years for ST applicants & up to 3 years for OBC applicants (b) up to 5 years for persons already in the employment of Central/State Government or their Undertakings/ Autonomous Bodies/Boards/ Corporations.
Age relaxation for PwD
Age relaxation of 10 years in upper age limit for UR / EWS Category, ST (10+ 5 years for ST) & OBC (10 + 3 years for OBC) shall be allowed to persons suffering from (b) hearing impairment and (c) locomotor disability or cerebral palsy in case of direct recruitment to all civil posts/ services under the Central Govt. identified suitable to be held by persons with such disabilities, subject to the condition that maximum age of the applicant on the crucial date shall not exceed 56 years. Relaxation of age limit would be permissible to such persons who have a minimum of 40% disability.

  • Fill Application Form: Complete all the required columns in the online application form accurately, entering "N/A" for any fields that do not apply to you.

  • Upload Documents : Upload scanned copies of your requisite educational qualifications, experience certificates, and other relevant documents along with the application.

  • Pay Application Fee : Deposit the non-refundable fee online (Rs. 1,000/- for UR/OBC/EWS or Rs. 500/- for Scheduled Tribes) by the fee deposit deadline of 23 September, 2026.

  • Final Submission : Submit the completed online application form on or before the final closing date of 21 September, 2026 up to 11:59 PM.

  • Save Credentials : Remember and safely store your login ID and password generated during registration for future correspondence and reference.

  • Departmental Dispatch : If you are a departmental or serving government employee, send a printed copy of your online application along with certificates through proper channel to the office of the Member Secretary/Centralized Staff Selection Committee, BBMB, Chandigarh by 21 September, 2026 (up to 16:00 hours).

Selection Process

  • Application Submission and Screening : Eligible candidates must submit their online applications by the stipulated deadline, after which the Centralized Staff Selection Committee may restrict candidate numbers through higher qualifications, screening tests, or alternative methods if application volumes are excessively large.
  • Written Examination : Eligible applicants must appear for a 90-minute, 100-mark OMR-based multiple-choice question test covering English Grammar, Hindi Grammar, General Awareness, Computer Proficiency, Translation, and Word Meanings, requiring a minimum pass mark of 40% for UR/EWS and 35% for ST/OBC categories.
  • Provisional Merit List Preparation : A category-wise provisional merit list is formulated strictly based on the performance and marks secured by candidates in the written examination.
  • Document Verification : Candidates numbering five times the available vacancies in each respective category are shortlisted and called for the verification of original documents.
  • Final Merit List and Tie-Breaking : The final selection list is prepared post-document verification, resolving any score ties by giving preference to the older candidate by date of birth, or post-graduation marks if dates of birth are identical.
