Qualification Details

• Junior Superintendent (Post Code: 26118)

  • Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with at least 55% marks from a recognized university. 3 years of relevant experience in Level 5 or equivalent level, or 8 years of relevant experience in Level 3 or above in Central/State Government, Central/State Autonomous Bodies, PSUs, or Central/State Research Organizations. Proficiency in computer office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is mandatory.

  • Desirable Qualifications: Higher Degree / PG Diploma in relevant disciplines like HR, Labour Laws, Financial Management, or intermediate ICWA/CA.

• Junior Technician (Group-I) (Post Code: 26119)

  • Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Science (with Chemistry or Physics as one of the subjects) with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized University/Institute. Proficiency in computer office applications like MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or equivalent is a must.

• Junior Technician (Group-II) (Post Code: 26120)

  • Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Ceramic, or Materials Science with a minimum of 55% marks. OR a 3-year Diploma in Engineering or equivalent in the relevant branches (after 10+2) with a minimum of 55% marks plus one year of relevant experience. Proficiency in computer office applications is required.

• Junior Technician (Group-III) (Post Code: 26121)

  • Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent in Electrical or Electronics with a minimum of 55% marks. OR a 3-year Diploma in Engineering or equivalent in Electrical/Electronics (after 10+2) with a minimum of 55% marks plus one year of relevant experience. Proficiency in computer office applications is mandatory.

• Junior Technician (Group-IV) (Post Code: 26122)

  • Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent in Civil or Mining, or a Bachelor's in Architecture (B.Arch.) with a minimum of 55% marks. OR a 3-year Diploma in Engineering or equivalent in Civil/Mining (after 10+2) with a minimum of 55% marks plus one year of relevant experience. Proficiency in computer office applications is required.

• Junior Technician (Group-V) (Post Code: 26123)

  • Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent in Computer Science / Information Technology with a minimum of 55% marks. OR a 3-year Diploma in Engineering or equivalent in Computer Science / IT (after 10+2) with a minimum of 55% marks plus one year of relevant experience. Proficiency in computer office applications is mandatory.

• Junior Library Assistant (Post Code: 26124)

  • Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Library & Information Science with 55% marks; OR Diploma in Library & Information Science with 55% marks along with a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline; OR a 2-year integrated Master's degree in M.Lib. & Info. Sc. with 55% marks. Proficiency in computer office applications is required.

  • Desirable Qualifications: Hands-on experience of computer applications in a library of repute.

• Assistant Engineer (Post Code: 26125)

  • Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil/Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years (for degree holders) or 8 years (for diploma holders) of relevant post-qualification experience at Level 6 or above.

• Junior Engineer (Post Code: 26126)

  • Essential Qualifications: B.E./B.Tech. with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade on a 10-point scale) in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute with a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant field. OR a 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering with 55% marks from a Government-recognized polytechnic with a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience.

• Junior Translation Officer (Post Code: 26127)

  • Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Hindi with 3 years of relevant translation work experience (English to Hindi and vice versa) of technical and non-technical content in Central/State Government, Autonomous Bodies, PSUs, or Research Organizations.

  • Desirable Qualifications: Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation; knowledge of operating Hindi application software on computers; and experience in translating technical and scientific documents.

How to Apply?

• Step 1 : Check Eligibility : Review the official advertisement and ensure you meet the required essential qualifications, age limits, and experience criteria for the desired post.

• Step 2 : Register on Samarth Portal : Visit the official online application portal at https://iitbhunt.samarth.edu.in during the application window open from 25.08.2026 to 24.09.2026 (till 05:00 PM).

• Step 3 : Fill Out the Online Application : Complete the online application form with accurate details and verify all information before final submission, as modifications will not be allowed afterward.

• Step 4 : Pay the Application Fee : Pay the required fee (Rs. 500 for Group B or Rs. 250 for Group C, with exemptions for SC/ST, PwBD, and all female candidates) online via Internet Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or UPI.

• Step 5 : Print the Application Form : Download and print a copy of the successfully submitted application form, preserving it for future reference during document verification or interviews.

• Step 6 : Mail Hard Copies by Speed Post : Send the printed application form along with all relevant self-attested supporting documents and required employer certifications in a sealed envelope superscribed with the application form number, advertisement number, and post code/name to The Registrar, IIT (BHU), Varanasi - 221005.

Selection Process

• Online Application : Submit applications exclusively through the SAMARTH portal (https://iitbhunt.samarth.edu.in) by 24.09.2026 (05:00 PM).  

• Postal Submission : Send the printed online application form along with supporting documents and application fees in a sealed envelope via Speed Post to The Registrar, IIT (BHU), Varanasi - 221005 within seven days of the closing date.

• Screening and Shortlisting : The Institute shortlists candidates based on qualifications, suitability, and experience data provided in the application, applying more stringent criteria if necessary.

• Selection Tests/Interviews : Shortlisted candidates are notified via email to appear for a selection process, which may include a Screening Test, Written Test, Presentation, Group Discussion, or Personal Interview.

• Final Appointment : Final selection is subject to document verification, meeting eligibility criteria, and institutional norms, with the option for appointments to be made on regular or contract terms.
