  • Visit the Official Portal : Access the official website to navigate to the recruitment section for the Stenographer Grade III and Grade II combined competitive examination, 2026.

  • Check Important Dates : Submit your online application between July 22, 2026 (1:00 PM) and August 10, 2026 (5:00 PM), and pay the examination fee by August 11, 2026 (5:00 PM).

  • Fill Out the Application Form : Enter all required and accurate personal, educational, and category details carefully; incomplete or incorrect entries will lead to rejection.

  • Select Jurisdiction Preferences : Choose up to five district jurisdictions in order of your preference, keeping local TSP/Non-TSP guidelines in mind.

  • Upload Required Documents : Upload a recent photograph with your name and photo date clearly printed, a valid photo ID, your signature, left-hand thumb impression, a handwritten declaration sample, and a real-time photo.

  • Pay Examination Fee : Complete the application fee payment via net banking, debit card, credit card, or E-Mitra kiosk/CSC based on your category (e.g., Rs. 750 for General/OBC Creamy Layer, Rs. 600 for OBC Non-Creamy Layer/EWS/MBC, or Rs. 450 for SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen).

  • Submit and Print Confirmation : Finalize your submission before the deadline and save a copy of the completed application and payment receipt for future reference.

Selection Process

  • Group A (English Shorthand Test) : Dictation of a passage at 80 words per minute for 6 minutes, followed by transcription and typing on a computer within 50 minutes.

  • Group B (Hindi Shorthand Test) : Dictation of a passage at 70 words per minute for 6 minutes, followed by transcription and typing on a computer within 50 minutes.

  • Group C (Computer Test) : Consists of a Speed Test (minimum speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour) and an Efficiency Test (formatting of text, paragraphs, pages, and tables) for 10 minutes each.

  • Interview : Candidates numbering equal to total vacancies are called based on merit, evaluated only to ensure they do not stutter to an extent that prevents them from reading their own notes (carries no marks).
