How to Apply?

• Portal Registration for ITI Candidates : Register online at apprenticeshipindia.org, go to Apprenticeship Opportunity, search for the establishment "SAIL ROURKELA STEEL PLANT", and apply for the prescribed trade.

• Portal Registration for Degree/Diploma Candidates : Register online at nats.education.gov.in, go to Establishments Requests, select "Find Establishments", and choose "Steel Authority of India Limited, Rourkela Steel Plant" to apply in your respective branch.

• Application Deadline : Complete the online portal registration and application submission on or before 26th August, 2026.

• Walk-In Attendance : Attend the walk-in selection process at the Central Recreation Room, Trainees' Hostel, Sector-5, Rourkela-769002, Dist: Sundargarh (Odisha) according to your scheduled dates between 01 September, 2026 and 26 September, 2026 with a reporting time of 9.30 am to 10.30 am.

• Document Verification : Submit all required self-attested copies along with the original Institution Leaving Certificate, Apprentice Registration copy from NAPS/NATS portal, and a Medical Fitness Certificate from a Govt. Hospital during the walk-in.

Selection Process

• Portal Registration : Candidates must first register online through the designated Government of India apprenticeship portals (apprenticeshipindia.org for trade apprentices or nats.education.gov.in for graduate/technician apprentices) and apply specifically to SAIL Rourkela Steel Plant by August 26, 2026.

• Walk-In Participation : Eligible candidates are required to attend the walk-in process at the designated venue (Central Recreation Room, Trainees' Hostel, Sector-5, Rourkela) according to their scheduled trade/branch dates between September 01, 2026, and September 26, 2026.

• Document Verification : Candidates must submit and verify all mandatory original and self-attested documents, including educational certificates, caste/category proofs, medical fitness certificates from a government hospital, and the portal registration copy during the walk-in.

• Merit Shortlisting : Selection is carried out purely by shortlisting candidates based on academic merit, calculated using a 30% weight-age for marks secured in the Class X examination and a 70% weight-age for marks secured in the qualifying ITI, Diploma, or Degree examination.

• Medical Fitness : Final engagement and joining for the training are strictly subject to the selected candidates being declared medically fit as per the requirements of the Apprentices Act, 1961, certified by a government doctor.
