Educational Qualification & Experience

1. Essential Educational Qualifications by Discipline

Candidates must possess a 4-year B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc Engineering Graduate degree from an AICTE-approved College/University in the respective streams :

• Probationary Engineer - Electronics :

  • Electronics / Electronics & Communication / Electronics & Telecommunication / Communication / Telecommunication.

• Probationary Engineer - Mechanical :

  • Mechanical Engineering.

Alternatively, candidates with a first class in AMIE / AMIETE / GIETE in the above specified disciplines are also eligible to apply.

2. Marks / Percentage Criteria

• UR / OBC (NCL) / EWS Candidates : Must have secured First Class in their qualifying degree.

• SC / ST / PwBD Candidates : Must have a Pass Class in their qualifying degree.

3. Important Rules & Guidelines

• Ineligible Disciplines : Other equivalent disciplines and dual specializations will not be considered.

• Degree Tally : The specialization mentioned in your degree certificate must strictly match the branch applied for, or the application will be rejected.

• Grading Systems (CGPA/SGPA) : If final marks are awarded as letter grades (CGPA/GPI/SGPA, etc.), candidates must adopt the equivalent percentage conversion formula issued by their respective Institute/University. You will be required to submit the official conversion certificate/formula issued by your university during the interview stage if shortlisted. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

4. Experience Requirements

• No prior professional experience is required for these positions, as they are meant for fresh engineering graduates applying for Probationary Engineer (E-II Grade) roles.

How to Apply?

• Step 1 : Registration — Read the instructions and click the "Click here" hyperlink in front of "To Register" to fill in personal and contact details, then verify your Mobile Number and Email ID using separate OTPs.

• Step 2 : Sign-Up Submission — Agree to the terms and conditions, click "Re-verify" to check your entered values, tick the confirmation check boxes, and press "Submit" to receive your Application Sequence Number (User ID) and Password via email and SMS.

• Step 3 : Access Application Form — Click the "Go to Application" button (or log back in using your User ID and Password) and click "Go To Application" at the top right corner.

• Step 4 : Fill Details — Complete all required fields across Personal Details, Additional Details, Communication Details, and Qualification Details, and read and accept the declaration.

• Step 5 : Upload Documents — Upload your recent passport size color photograph (white background, 100 KB to 200 KB, .jpg/.jpeg) and your signature signed in black ink on white paper (80 KB to 150 KB, .jpg/.jpeg).

• Step 6 : Preview and Submit — Click the "Preview" tab to thoroughly check all filled particulars for errors, and finally click the "Submit" tab (note that applications cannot be edited after submission).

• Step 7 : Pay Fee — Upon final submission, you will be automatically redirected to the SBI e-Pay Lite payment gateway to pay the non-refundable application fee of ₹1180/- inclusive of GST (SC/ST/PwBD/ESM candidates are exempt).

• Step 8 : Save Confirmation — After successful payment, print and save your submitted Application Form and Payment Acknowledgement Slip in PDF format for future reference.

Selection Process

1. Computer-Based Test (CBT) — 85 Marks Weightage

• Test Structure : A 120-minute objective-type test consisting of 125 questions (100 core engineering technical questions + 25 general aptitude and reasoning questions).

• Marking Scheme : Each question carries 1 mark. There is a negative marking of 1/4th (0.25) marks deducted for every wrong answer. Unattempted questions receive zero marks.

• Language : Bilingual (English and Hindi).

• Qualifying Marks : Minimum qualifying marks are 35% for General/OBC/EWS candidates and 30% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

2. Personal Interview — 15 Marks Weightage

• Shortlisting Ratio : Candidates are shortlisted for the interview based on their CBT performance in a 1:5 ratio (discipline-wise and category-wise).

• Qualifying Marks : Candidates must separately score a minimum of 35% (General/OBC/EWS) or 30% (SC/ST/PwBD) in the interview.

• Language Option : Candidates can choose to conduct the interview in either English or Hindi.

3. Final Merit & Selection

• Final selection is determined by combining the performance scores from both the Computer-Based Test (85%) and the Interview (15%).

• Successful candidates must clear document verification and pass the company’s medical fitness standards (note that candidates with colour blindness are ineligible for Electronics and Mechanical engineering posts).
