Selection Process

  • Shortlisting : Candidates are shortlisted for a personal interview based on a merit list prepared using valid GATE 2024, 2025, or 2026 scores.

  • Shortlisting Ratio : For each vacancy, approximately 12 candidates (1:12 ratio) are selected for the interview phase.

  • Interview Notification : Selected candidates are notified of the interview date, time, and venue via email and SMS, and must download their call letters from the NPCIL website.

  • Document Verification : Original documents, including age proof, educational certificates, and GATE scorecards, are verified at the time of the personal interview.

  • Personal Interview : Final selection is based solely on performance in the personal interview, with no weightage given to GATE scores in the final stage.

  • Qualifying Marks : Candidates must meet minimum qualifying marks in the interview, which are 70% for the Unreserved category and 60% for EWS, SC, ST, OBC (NCL), and PwBD categories.

  • Medical Examination : Final selection is subject to candidates being declared medically fit by an authorized NPCIL medical officer.

  • Merit Tie-Breaking : In case of equal interview marks, the candidate with the higher GATE score is ranked higher; if scores are still tied, the older candidate is preferred.
