Step-by-step application process

1. Register on the GOAPS portal : Go to the official GATE 2026 website at gate2026.iitg.ac.in and click on the "Application form portal" or "New User" to start the registration process. You will need to provide your name, email address, and mobile number to create an account.

2. Get login credentials : After registration, you will receive an enrollment ID via SMS and email. Save this ID and your password for logging in.

3. Fill in the application form : Log in to the portal using your enrollment ID and password. Fill in your personal, communication, and educational details accurately. Select the exam papers you want to appear for and choose three exam city preferences.

4. Upload documents : Scan and upload the required documents, including a photograph, signature, and a valid photo ID in the specified formats. You may also need to upload category or disability certificates if applicable.

5. Pay the application fee : Proceed to the payment gateway and pay the application fee using an available online method like net banking, credit/debit card, or UPI.
