How to Apply

  • Visit Official Site : Go to upsc.gov.in or upsconline.nic.in.
  • Complete OTR : Register on the One Time Registration (OTR) platform if not already registered.
  • Fill Application : Log in to the portal, navigate to "Latest Notification," and select the "Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2026".
  • Document Upload : Upload scanned photograph, signature, and valid Photo ID (Aadhaar/PAN/Voter ID).
  • Application Fee : Pay ₹200 (exempted for Female/SC/ST/PH candidates) online.
  • Final Submission : Review and submit the application, then save the confirmation copy.

Selection Process

  • Stage I : Preliminary Examination (500 Marks) : Objective-type papers (Paper I : General Studies & Engineering Aptitude, Paper II: Engineering Discipline). Only qualifiers proceed to Mains.
  • Stage II : Mains Examination (600 Marks) : Conventional (descriptive) papers in the specific engineering branch.
  • Stage III : Personality Test (200 Marks) : Interview focusing on technical knowledge, leadership, and suitability for public service.
  • Final Merit : Calculated based on the total marks secured in all three stages
