- 1. The final selection will be based on the scores obtained in the Written Test.
- 2. The Written Test will be held on offline mode (OMR method) in Tirunelveli & Chennai. The applicants have to make their choice of city for written test while submission of online application. It may be noted that the choice once made cannot be changed later under any circumstances.
- 3. The Skill test will be conducted purely on ‘GO/NO-GO’ basis and the final selection will be done amongst qualified candidates, purely based on the scores obtained in the written test.
- 4. In case of a tie in Written Test scores, the academic scores of the notified qualification shall be the tie breaker.
- 5. The above mode of selection may change as per Govt. of India/DOS/ISRO orders from time to time.
- 6. The written test and Skill Test question paper for the post codes 60 to 62 will be in bilingual (English, Hindi) and post codes 63 to 68 & 70 to 71 will be in Trilingual (Tamil, Hindi, English).

Syllabus for Written Examination & Skill Test |
Technical Assistant (Post Codes 60 to 62) AND Technician ‘B’ (Post codes 63 to 68) | WRITTEN TEST 1. It is purely based on the Curriculum (Academic Syllabus) of the prescribed Educational Qualification. 2. The Written Test will comprise of 80 Multiple Choice Questions with duration of 90 minutes (1½ hours). 3. For each correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded and for each wrong answer, 0.33 marks will be deducted. 4. Applicants belonging to UR category have to secure minimum 32 marks out of 80 marks for passing the Written Test. 5. Passing marks for applicants belonging to reserved categories will be 24 marks out of 80 marks, wherever a post is reserved for the respective category. SKILL TEST 1. It is purely based on the Curriculum (Academic Syllabus) of the prescribed Educational Qualification. 2. The Skill Test will be purely on ‘GO-NO-GO’ basis and marks obtained in the skill test shall not be considered for selection. The Skill Test will be conducted for 100 marks out of which the applicants have to secure minimum 50 marks for qualifying. 3. Passing marks for applicants belonging to reserved categories will be 40 marks out of 100 marks, wherever a post is reserved for the respective category. 4. The applicants who had qualified in the Written Test will be shortlisted for the Skill Test in 1:5 ratio with a minimum of 10 applicants for a post. In case of a tie in written test scores, the academic scores of the notified qualification shall be the tie breaker. |
Cook ‘A’ post [Post Code : 70] | WRITTEN TEST The Syllabus is : Knowledge in cooking & equipments used in kitchen, General Knowledge, General English & Arithmetic (SSLC/Matriculation level). The Written Test will comprise of 100 Multiple Choice Questions with a duration of 120 minutes (2 hours). 1. For each correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded and for each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. SKILL TEST 1. The Skill Test will be purely of qualifying nature. The Skill Test will be conducted for 100 marks out of which the applicants have to secure minimum 60 marks for qualifying. |

1. Physical Fitness Standards for Fireman 'A' [Post Code : 71]Height (Minimum) : 165 cm for General Category; 160 cm for Gorkhas, Hill Tribes, SC & ST; 155 cm for Women & Transgender. Weight (Minimum) : 50 kg for General Category; 46 kg for Gorkhas, Hill Tribes, SC & ST; 43 kg for Women & Transgender. Body Mass Index (BMI) : 18–28. Waist to Hip Ratio : ≤ 1. Chest (Minimum) : 76 cm on expiration and 81 cm on inspiration for Gorkhas, Hill Tribes, SC & ST; 81 cm on expiration and 86 cm on inspiration for General Category (Not applicable for Women & Transgender).
Chest Expansion (Minimum) : 5 cm. Vision Standards : Distant vision of 6/6 without glasses or any other aid in each eye; normal near vision (presbyopia correction allowed for applicants above 40 years of age); full field of vision. General Medical Parameters : Normal hearing (by tuning fork tests); no known psychiatric illness; normal heart sounds, ECG, respiratory systems, neurological system, and musculo-skeletal system with no clinical evidence of disease. Mandatory PME Certificate : Applicants must mandatorily submit a Preliminary Medical Examination (PME) Certificate (Annexure A) issued by a Government Medical Officer (Allopathy) not below the rank of Assistant Civil Surgeon during the Skill Test, and also upload its scanned copy with the online application.
2. Disqualifications (Presence of Any One)Physical & Orthopedic Deformities : Knock knee, bow legs, flat foot, any physical deformity of the spine or any limb (congenital or acquired). Eye Conditions: Night blindness, colour blindness, squint or any other morbid condition of the eyes/eyelids, monocular vision, or glaucoma. Cardiovascular & Blood Disorders : Implanted pacemaker, blood pressure more than 140/90 mmHg with target organ damage, anaemia (haemoglobin < 10 gm %), Ischemic Heart Disease (IHD), or any other heart diseases. Metabolic & Internal Conditions : Random blood sugar > 180 mg/dl, organomegaly by clinical examination, hernia, hydrocele, haemorrhoids, thyrotoxicosis, pituitary disorders, or diabetes with micro/macro vascular complications. Respiratory & Chronic Illnesses : Chronic illness likely to worsen over time, bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), active tuberculosis with sputum positive for tubercle bacilli. Neurological & Infectious Conditions : Seizure disorders, bilateral nystagmus and positive Romberg sign, serious infectious diseases communicable to others (e.g., lepromatous leprosy), malignancy (carcinoma, multiple myeloma, blood dyscrasias), or physical fitness impairment from any other major operation. Vascular Issues : Varicose veins.
3. The Skill Test (Physical Efficiency Test - PET)Shortlisting Ratio : Shortlisted from written test qualified candidates who meet PME norms in a 1:50 ratio. Nature of Test : Purely of a qualifying nature, participated in at the candidate's own risk and volition (a signed declaration is required). Stages : Conducted in two stages; candidates must qualify in all events of Stage 1 to proceed to Stage 2, and subsequently undergo a Detailed Medical Examination. Stage 1 Events : 1500 meters Run : Qualifying time of 7 minutes (males up to 40 years) or 8 minutes (males above 40 years). 800 meters Run : Qualifying time of 4 minutes (females & transgenders up to 40 years) or 5 minutes (females & transgenders above 40 years).
Stage 2 Events & Standards : Rope Climbing (using only hands) : 5 meters from ground level for males up to 40 years; 4.5 meters for females/transgenders up to 40 and males above 40; 4 meters for females/transgenders above 40. Carrying a Human Dummy (Fireman's lift - 60 kg for men / 50 kg for women & transgenders) : 25 meters in 60 seconds (males up to 40); 75 seconds (females/transgenders up to 40 & males above 40); 90 seconds (females/transgenders above 40). Long Jump : 3.8 meters (males up to 40); 3.5 meters (females/transgenders up to 40 & males above 40); 3.2 meters (females/transgenders above 40) — 3 attempts allowed (best of 3 considered; spiked shoes not allowed). 100 meters Run : 15 seconds (males up to 40); 17 seconds (females/transgenders up to 40 & males above 40); 19 seconds (females/transgenders above 40) — only 1 attempt allowed
