Qualification

  • JE (Civil) : Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university/institute; or a three-year diploma in Civil Engineering plus relevant work experience (requirement varies by organization).
  • JE (Electrical) / JE (Mechanical) / JE (Electrical & Mechanical) : Degree or diploma in the relevant Electrical/Mechanical/Automobile engineering discipline from a recognized university/institute, with experience required in some organizations.
  • JE (Telecom) : Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology in Electrical, Electronics, Electrical Communications, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or Instrumentation.
  • Scientific Assistant (IMD) : Bachelor's degree in Science with Physics as one of the subjects, or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Applications/Electronics/Electronics & Communication Engineering/Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering/Instrumentation/Information Technology/Telecommunication Engineering/Communication Engineering.

How to Apply?

  • One-Time Registration : Visit the official SSC website (https://ssc.gov.in) to complete your One-Time Registration (OTR), noting that OTR generated on the old website will not function.

  • Online Application Submission : Navigate to the application module on the SSC website or use the 'mySSC' mobile application to fill out and submit the Online Application Form by 22 September, 2026 (23:00 hours).

  • Photograph Capture : Stand or sit in front of your camera under good lighting with a plain background when prompted to capture a real-time photograph without caps, masks, or glasses.

  • Signature Upload : Upload a scanned signature in JPEG format measuring about 6.0 cm in width by 2.0 cm in height, with a file size between 10 KB and 20 KB.

  • Application Fee Payment : Pay the application fee of ₹100 online via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit card by 23.09.2026 (23:00 hours), keeping in mind that women, SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempt.

  • Application Preview and Verification : Check all filled details using the Preview/Print option before final submission, and verify that your fee payment status is successfully recorded to prevent summary rejection.

  • Form Correction Window : Make any necessary modifications or corrections to your submitted application during the designated correction window from 28 September, 2026 to 30 September, 2026 (23:00 hours) by paying the applicable uniform correction charges.

Selection Process

  • One-Time Registration (OTR) : Complete mandatory registration and Aadhaar authentication on the official SSC website ([https://ssc.gov.in](https://ssc.gov.in)) before application.

  • Online Application Submission : Submit the application via the official portal or 'mySSC' app with a fee of ₹100, while women, SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen are exempt.

  • Application Correction Window : Modify or correct submitted application data during the designated correction window by paying the applicable uniform charges.

  • Computer-Based Examination (Paper-I) : Appear for the qualifying objective-type test covering General Intelligence, General Awareness, and the opted engineering discipline.

  • Computer-Based Examination (Paper-II) : Shortlisted candidates from Paper-I take the second stage advanced discipline-specific objective test.

  • Post Preference Submission : Exercise final, irreversible choices for posts and departments online prior to the tentative allocation round.

  • Document Verification (DV) : Indenting user departments scrutinize original academic, category, and experience certificates after results.

  • Final Selection and Allocation : Final merit is determined using normalized Paper-II scores, post preferences, and fulfillment of medical, physical, and educational standards.
