Selection Process

  • Stage 1 : Stenography Test – A 100-mark test comprising a 2-minute voice test, a 7-minute speed test in shorthand (100 words per minute), a 3-minute computer testing period, and a 25-minute transcription period.

  • Stage 2 : Written Test – An objective-type, 70-mark OMR-based exam (1.5 hours) covering English Language Proficiency and the official language of Assam, for candidates qualifying the Stenography Test.

  • Stage 3 : Viva-voce – An interview worth 10 marks for candidates who qualify the written test, with the final merit determined by the combined marks of the Stenography Test and Viva-voce.
