  • Drug Inspector : Degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medicine with specialization in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology.

  • Joint Director (Crops Development Directorate) : Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, Agronomy, Entomology, Nematology, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Agriculture Botany, Plant Bio Technology, Plant Pathology, Plant Physiology, Seed Science and Technology or Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry from a recognized university or institute, or Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering from a recognized University or institute.

  • Medical Officer/Research Officer (Siddha) : Degree in Siddha from a recognised university or statutory state Board or Council or Faculty of Indian Medicine or equivalent and Enrolment on the central register of Indian medicine or state register of Indian medicine.

  • Aeronautical Officer : Degree in Aeronautical or Electrical or Electronics or Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering from a recognized University.

  • Legal Officer : Degree in Law from a recognized university.

  • Company Prosecutor : Bachelor degree in law or integrated degree in law from a recognized university or institution.

  • Deputy Superintending Archaeologist : Master Degree in Archaeology or Indian History (with Ancient or Medieval Indian History) or Anthropology or Geology from a recognized University and Doctorate degree in relevant subject, or Master Degree in above subjects plus Post Graduate Diploma in Archaeology (one year) and three years field experience in archaeology including excavation.

  • Senior Photographic Officer : Degree from a recognised university and three years experience in various branches of Photography including Press Photography in Print or Audio-Visual Media.

Selection Process

  • Online Application : Candidates submit applications through the official UPSC Online Recruitment Application (ORA) portal.

  • Shortlisting of Applications : The Commission reviews the applications based on the information provided, such as educational qualifications and relevant work experience, to shortlist candidates. If the number of applications is very high, the Commission may apply stricter criteria (e.g., higher educational qualifications or more years of experience) to shortlist candidates for the next stage.

  • Recruitment Test (RT) : If the number of applications is large, the Commission may conduct a Recruitment Test (RT) to further screen candidates. The decision to conduct an RT and the criteria for minimum suitability are determined by the Commission.

  • Interview : Shortlisted candidates (or those who qualify in the RT, if held) are called for an interview. This interview typically carries a maximum of 100 marks.

  • Minimum Suitability Standards : To be considered for selection, candidates must achieve the minimum suitability marks in the interview (and the RT, if applicable). The standard is generally 50 marks for UR, 45 for OBC, and 40 for SC/ST/PwBD categories.

  • Document Verification : Original documents are verified at the time of the interview to confirm eligibility regarding age, education, and experience.
