Educational Qualification

• Store Keeper-II : 
  • Educational Qualification : 12th pass from recognized Board or University.
  • Experience : One year's experience in handling stores from any recognized firm or Central or State Govt organization or Public Sector Undertakings
• Engine Driver :
  • Educational Qualification : Essential: Matriculation from a recognized Board or equivalent and Certificate of competency as Engine Driver from re-cognized Government. institute or equivalent.
  • Experience : Desirable : Two years service as Sarang on a vessel of over four hundred Boat Horse power.
• Lascar :
  • Eigibility Criteria : Educational Qualification: Matriculation pass or its equivalent recognized boards.
  • Experience : Three years experience in service on Boat.
• Civilian MT Driver :
  • Educational Qualification : Essential: 10th standard pass. Must possess valid driving license for both heavy and light motor vehicles. Knowledge of motor mechanism (should be able to remove minor defects in vehicles).
  • Experience : Should have at least two years experience in driving motor vehicles.
• MTS (Peon) :
  • Educational Qualification : Matriculation or equivalent pass.
  • Experience : Two years experience as office attendant.
• MTS (Chowkidar) :
  • Educational Qualification : Matriculation or equivalent pass.
  • Experience : Two years experience as Chowkidar in any recognized institution or organization.

How to Apply?

• Format Selection : Fill out the application form either in English or Hindi using the prescribed format given at Annexure-I.

• Photograph Attachment : Affix a recent self-attested colour passport-size photograph on the application form.

• Document Photocopies : Attach self-attested photocopies (with name and date) of all required educational, category, and experience certificates.

• Self-Addressed Envelope : Enclose a separate blank envelope with a Rs. 50/- postal stamp pasted on it, addressed to yourself.

• Envelope Superscription : Clearly superscribe the outer envelope in BOLD letters with the notation "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF [POST NAME]" along with your category (UR/EWS/OBC/SC/ST).

• Postal Dispatch : Send the completed application and documents strictly by ordinary post to Headquarters Coast Guard Region (West), Alexander Graham Bell Road, PO Malabar Hill, Mumbai 400006, to reach within 45 days of the advertisement (by 03 November, 2026).

Selection Process

• Application Scrutiny : All received applications will be checked against eligibility criteria and document requirements, and admit cards will be issued to shortlisted candidates for document verification and the written exam.

• Document Verification : Shortlisted candidates must undergo document verification prior to the written examination, bringing original documents and two sets of self-attested photocopies.

• Biometric Verification : Thumb impressions and photographs will be captured during initial document verification at reporting, and identity will be re-verified using these details at all stages.

• Written Examination : Shortlisted candidates will take a one-hour, pen-paper-based objective test consisting of 80 bilingual questions carrying one mark each with no negative marking.

• Syllabus : The written exam covers General Knowledge, Mathematics, General English, and questions on the relevant trade.

• Qualifying Marks : The minimum qualifying mark is 50% for UR/OBC/EWS candidates and 45% for SC/ST candidates.

• Trade Test : Candidates who clear the written exam will be shortlisted for a trade test (where applicable).

• Final Merit List : The final merit list will be prepared strictly based on marks obtained in the written examination and published on the Indian Coast Guard website.
