Ex-servicemen (including Emergency Commissioned Officers/Short Service Commissioned Officers) provided applicants have rendered at least five years continuous Military Service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within six months) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or on account of physical disability attributable to military service or on invalidment. Emergency Commissioned Officers/Short Service Commissioned Officers who have completed their initial period of assignment of five years of Military Service but whose assignment has been extended beyond five years and in whose case the Ministry of Defence issues certificates that they would be released on selection within three months from the date of receipt of offer of appointment.

In order to qualify for the concession above, candidates concerned would be required to produce a certificate that they have been released from the Defence Forces. Educational Qualification & Experience

(A)
(I)B.Sc. (Hons) in Nursing from a recognized University or Institute;

OR

Regular course in B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized University or Institute.

Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized University or Institute.

(II) Registered as a Nurse or Nurse and mid-wife (RN or RN & RM) with State Nursing Council;

  • Step 2 : Prepare Scanned Photograph : Prepare a clear passport-size color photograph taken on or after July 1, 2026, showing your name and date of photo, saved in JPG/JPEG format between 50 to 80 KB.

  • Step 3 : Visit Official Website : Open the PGIMER official website at www.pgimer.edu.in and navigate to the recruitment link on the home page.

  • Step 4 : Perform Online Registration : Select online registration and carefully fill in your mandatory details including Advertisement Number, Advertisement Date, Applicant's Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, and Email ID.

  • Step 5 : Receive Login Credentials : Note down or receive the acknowledgement of successful online registration containing your user ID and password sent to your registered email ID and mobile number.

  • Step 6 : Log In to Application Portal : Click on "Applicant login" and log in using the received User ID and password to access the application form.

  • Step 7 : Fill Application Sections : Click on "Go to Application Form" and systematically fill out the section-wise personal information, qualifications, and experiences, clicking "Save and Next" to progress.

Selection Process

1. Computer-Based Test (CBT)

  • AIIMS (NORCET) : Conducted in a two-stage format consisting of a Preliminary Exam (qualifying screening test) and a Mains Exam (merit-deciding test focusing on case-scenario questions).

  • Other Institutions (e.g., PGIMER, ESIC) : Typically feature a single-stage Computer-Based Test containing multiple-choice questions covering nursing subjects, general awareness, and aptitude, carrying negative marking for incorrect answers.

2. Category-Wise Shortlisting & Merit List

  • Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks or percentile based on their category (UR/EWS, OBC, SC, ST).

  • Shortlisted candidates (usually a fixed multiple of total available vacancies) are chosen for subsequent processing.

3. Application & Document Scrutiny

  • The organizing board thoroughly cross-checks the submitted application forms and uploaded documents.

  • Verification covers age limits, educational qualifications (B.Sc. Nursing / GNM), active State/Indian Nursing Council registration, and mandatory work experience certificates (if specified for diploma holders).

4. Document Verification (DV) & Medical Examination
