How to Apply

  • Registration
    • Visit the official website: www.pspcl.in

    • Navigate to the "Recruitment" tab on the home page and select the link for "Recruitment for the post of Assistant Lineman against CRA 318/26"

    • Click on "NEW REGISTRATION" to begin

    • Fill in the required details, including your name, date of birth, father's name, mobile number, and email ID

    • Verify your identity using the OTP sent to your registered email and mobile number

    • Complete the application form by filling in all required fields and uploading your photograph and signature in the specified format

      • Photograph: Recent, passport-sized, colored, JPG/JPEG format, 20kb–50kb

      • Signature: Signed on white paper with a black ink pen, JPG/JPEG format, 10kb–20kb

    • Save and preview your application. Once you click "SUBMIT" on the confirmation screen, you will not be able to edit your information

  • Fee Payment
    • After submitting the application, navigate to the payment link

    • Log in and click the "Pay Fee" button to be redirected to the SBI Payment Gateway

    • Make the payment via Internet Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card

    • Fees Structure:

      • All candidates (except SC and PwD) : Rs. 1416 (Rs. 1200 application fee + 18% GST)

      • SC and PwD candidates : Rs. 885 (Rs. 750 application fee + 18% GST)

    • After payment, print the payment receipt for your records

  • Finalize and Print
    • Log back into the website as a "REGISTERED CANDIDATE" to verify that your fee status is shown as "Paid"

    • Once confirmed, click on "PRINT APPLICATION FORM" and retain a copy for future reference

Selection Process

  • Part-I (Mandatory Qualifying Test) : Consists of 50 objective-type questions on Punjabi Language knowledge.

    • This is a mandatory qualifying test.

    • Candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks (25 marks) to qualify.

    • Failure to qualify in Part-I will disqualify the candidate, regardless of their performance in Part-II.

  • Part-II (Competitive Exam) : Consists of 100 objective-type questions covering the following areas

    • Technical questions related to the discipline (50 questions).

    • Punjabi Language Knowledge (20 questions).

    • General Knowledge (10 questions).

    • Reasoning (10 questions).

    • Arithmetic (10 questions). 

  • Important Notes for the Online Test :
    • Each correct answer carries one mark, and there is no negative marking.

    • The exam duration is 3 hours (180 minutes).

    • Minimum qualifying marks for Part-II are 25% for General Category candidates and 20% for Reserve Category candidates.

    • If the exam is held in multiple shifts, marks will be normalized.

  • Preparation of Merit List

    • The merit list is prepared based on the marks secured in Part-II of the online test.

    • Candidates must have qualified in Part-I to be considered for the merit list.

    • If two or more candidates secure the same marks, the older candidate is placed higher in the merit list.

    • For the Sports Person category, the final merit is prepared by the Office of the Director/Sports, Punjab.

  • Document Checking
    • Candidates who qualify in the online examination are called for document checking.

    • Candidates must produce original documents and certificates (qualification, age, reservation, etc.) for verification.

    • Mere being called for document checking does not entitle a candidate to selection.

    • If a candidate fails to appear for document checking, a second (final) chance is provided; failure to appear again results in the cancellation of candidature.

  • Selection and Joining
    • Qualified candidates who successfully complete the document checking process are placed on the selection panel.

    • The appointing authority issues offers of appointment to those on the selection panel.

    • Selected candidates may be required to undergo a 6-month classroom and on-the-job training program.
