South African cricket captain Temba Bavuma created history with a stunning knock of 179 in the first innings of the second Test against Australia on Tuesday (October 20) at the St. George Park in Gqeberha as the Proteas mounted a solid comeback to post a huge total of 425/9 on the board in the rain-affected match as the hosts declared just before stumps on Day 3 of the fixture.
Bavuma walked out to bat with the Proteas struggling at 12-2 on the first day and saw wickets fall in front of him on the second day as South Africa found themselves at 110-6.
