‘Upar se order’: CJP leader on foreign funding, PM Modi & Ranka-Saurav Das' custody extension
Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) spokesperson and national secretary Aafreen Nawaz has raised questions over the continued judicial custody of party leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, alleging that their lawyers’ arguments for release were not adequately considered. She questioned the conduct of the magistrate and criticised the authorities’ handling of the case. Responding to Union Minister Kiren Rijiju’s remarks about CJP, Nawaz called his claims baseless and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to demonstrate India’s commitment to democracy by protecting dissent and addressing protesters’ concerns. She also responded to allegations of foreign funding, questioned the evidence behind such claims and discussed CJP’s future, saying the group would continue to work as a pressure group rather than become a political party.
Our PM campaigned for a foreign government on a foreign soil and we are the ones accused of foreign interference. Like we all, I feel whoever is claiming or whoever is putting this thing on us, we should put a defamation case on that. At least then we will earn money from that. It was just like a mockery. I could see the magistrate was just on call all the time and I do not know whom he was talking to. One hour, 1.5 hour, 2 hours. He was just on call and when the time came to release the order, he just walked away saying you can collect the order. All what they have got is upar se order aaya hai. So I feel Saurav and Ashutosh are still in the jail when the section of USO, upar se order, I'm quoting this. Like is this what you are claiming them to do? You just can't come and once in a while just put a video and then just disappear. Where is the protection of the girls? going right after your video. There has been a lot of rape victims. There has been a lot of chaos on the streets. Precisely, you should be making a video for that as well. And I do not see RPM doing any of that. You can ask for accountability from the police, but what about the judiciary? Yes, the detention, you've raised very serious questions about the way it happened, on what charges were they detained. But at the end of it, was the magistrate who said that their judicial custody should be extended. It's not the police at the end of it, was the court. So I was there at the SCM yesterday and it has been my first experience and I do not know how to even express this because our lawyers had Every point for Saurav and Ashutosh to be released yesterday, it was just like a mockery. I could see the magistrate was just on call all the time and I do not know whom he was talking to. One hour, 1.5 hour, 2 hours, he was just on call and when the time came to release the order, he just walked away saying you can collect the order. We were hoping them to be released and it was again extended for two days. I am really not too sure because As our legal team is also communicating, all what they have got is, so I feel Saurav and Ashutosh are still in the jail when the section of U.S. so I'm quoting this, like, is this what you are claiming them to do? I mean, they have just trespassed. Who said that? Is this? You see, they're playing very smartly. They're playing very smart to suppress our voices, but I don't think none of it is making any difference to us. And I've met Saurav and Ashutosh yesterday. They are as energetic as you can see them, and they are not giving up, and so should we not. How do you respond to the Union Minister, Kiran Rijiju, who says that these are essentially anti-India groups and some of the politicians who are planning St. violence like it has happened in Bangladesh and France? He has always commented some or the other thing, and I believe even in my past interviews I've told, all of what he says sounds very baseless to me. It is very baseless to me, and he really needs to get his facts right on what he comments and what he tells to anyone who is talking the right thing for the country. So, to Kiran Rijiju, you say, Get your facts right. Prime Minister Modi says, India is the mother of democracy. What would you like to say to him? Then prove that we are in a democratic country. If we are in a democratic country, make sure that you make us feel that we are in a democratic country. You just can't come and once in a while just put a video and then just disappear. Where is the protection of the girls going? Right after your video, there has been a lot of rape victims. There has been a lot of chaos on the streets. Precisely, you should be making a video for that as well. And I do not see RCM doing anything. of that. It's just been one or two videos and you have disappeared again. There are a couple of viral videos of young protesters, girl protesters at your CJP rallies who are using the choices of gullies, unparliamentary language, words which perhaps should not be used. I think all of us would agree on that against a democratically elected Prime Minister. What would you say to those who are saying that this is what the cockroaches are making our youth do? See, if you can see even five months before, if you go back, there has been people who have also abused and who have told, it is not because of CJP or cockroaches that this is coming. And also I feel that if you had responded, if there was a place to have a dialogue with the government. I don't think so any of it would have happened. You have led this to happen. You have, you know, those girls who have spoken, I do not agree with that. I don't think so anyone should be using that kind of language to anybody. But when you are brutally assaulting people, it has happened right in front of me as well, where the police was breaking heads, the police was assaulting, the police were brutally hitting. And I feel that is the emotion or the anger which has come at that point of time. again say that no one should be using such language, but I feel that situation was totally because it was an action to the reaction or the reaction to the action, vice versa, whatever you have to be taking. What is CJP's equation with the Congress? Love them, hate them, what is it? It's complicated. Congress has shown immense support to us and we welcome the support what we have got from Congress and that has only been That, that's it, but they don't come for your protests. Why don't they? Is it like situation ship? I think the younger lot call it situation ship. When we had 10th protest, Rahul Gandhi equally had a protest in Chennai, as much as I know. Yes, and they were never part of the same protests. I'm sorry, Rahul Gandhi never came to any of the CJP protests. Some of the other opposition leaders did, but not Rahul Gandhi. But he has been very vocal in supporting Dip K and also with Saurav and Ashutosh's detention. So like I said, this is just going to waste time when we, it is a protest where everyone and all are welcome and it is for the right cause. And he's doing his best as well with Chatron Ki Goonj and Vote Chori and all of that. He's been occupied himself. And I don't think so we will be questioning anyone who not coming. We are welcoming everyone who is going to come. We welcome everyone, but where is the funding coming from? And there is no other way of asking this question. Everyone wants to know where is the funding coming from? I was just going through some article where a court found the BJP guilty of taking foreign money. Our only foreign hand is a meme, like... How can this foreign funding be so important? It's very funny; we laugh it out of the camera, we really laugh it out, but even the former former Solicitor General Harish Salve also said that there is a possibility that there is foreign funding. He said that there is no proof that he can give, but he suspects that there is some foreign funding there. Our PM campaigned for a foreign government on a foreign soil, and we are the ones accused of foreign interference. Like, we all, I feel whoever is claiming or whoever is putting this thing on us, we should put a defamation case on that. At least then we will earn money from that. So you're ready to sue. Foreign funding, perhaps your funding will come from your defamation suits. So while we wrap it up, while we wrap it up, the future of CJP, politics, is that happening or not? What's happening next? Like let's say if the CC resigns, then what? CJP movement ends? It's not happening. We will remain a pressure group. We will remain to be doing so. We will pick up the problems what people are facing or what needs to be addressed. Our school teacher as we speak is... Still going on simultaneously, the team is looking after school taker and it has been a wonderful campaign as well. So I don't think so. None of us, I mean all of us agree to this. We are not going to be a political party.
