Physical Standards Test (PST)

• For All Other States and Union Territories (except categories below) : Height must be a minimum of 170 cm. Chest measurements must be 80 cm unexpanded and a minimum of 85 cm expanded (with a minimum of 05 cm expansion).

• For Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas, and candidates from Assam, Himachal Pradesh, the Kashmir region of Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh : Height must be a minimum of 165 cm. Chest measurements must be 78 cm unexpanded and a minimum of 83 cm expanded.

• For candidates hailing from North-Eastern States (Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura) : Height must be a minimum of 162.5 cm. Chest measurements must be 77 cm unexpanded and a minimum of 82 cm expanded.

• Weight : Must be proportionate to height and age as prescribed in the uniform guidelines for medical examinations issued by the ADG (Medical), CAPFs. Underweight or overweight candidates are allowed to proceed past the PST stage, and final fitness regarding weight is evaluated during the Detailed Medical Examination (DME).

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) — Qualifying in Nature

• 1.6 Kilometers Race : Must be completed within 07 minutes and 30 seconds.

• Long Jump : Must clear 11 feet (03 chances are given).

• High Jump : Must clear 3.5 feet (03 chances are given).

• Note : PET is not required for Ex-servicemen.

Medical Standards

• Distant Vision : Minimum distant vision must be 6/6 and 6/9 for both eyes without correction (i.e., without wearing glasses).

• Visual Correction : Visual correction of any kind is strictly not permitted, even by glasses.

• Color Vision : High color vision is required (CP III by Ishihara). Color-blind candidates are ineligible.

• Additional Visual Criteria : Binocular vision is required. For right-handed individuals, the right eye is considered the better eye, and vice versa.

• Candidates must not have knock knees, flat feet, varicose veins, or a squint in their eyes.

• Candidates must be in good mental and bodily health, and free from any physical defects likely to interfere with efficient duty performance.

• Candidates with physical deformities and disabilities are not eligible to apply.

• Content : Tattoos depicting religious symbols, figures, and names (as permitted in the Indian Army) are allowed out of respect for religious sentiments.

• Location : Tattoos are restricted to traditional sites such as the inner aspect of the left forearm (the non-saluting limb) or the dorsum of the hands.

• Size : The size must cover less than 1/4 of the specific body part (elbow or hand).

• Note : Faded scars resulting from tattoo removal prior to the recruitment process are reviewed as scars by the Medical Board.

• Review Instructions : Read all recruitment guidelines, instructions, and eligibility criteria carefully before proceeding.

• Create Profile : Register and fill in all basic profile information including gender, category, and employment status.

• Fill Application Form : Complete the online application form with correct, genuine, and logical details across all segments.

• Upload Details : Provide a functional, active mobile number and e-mail ID, along with required passport-size photographs.

• Pay Application Fee : Pay the Rs. 100/- application fee via the online payment gateway (exempted for SC, ST, female, and Ex-Servicemen candidates).

• Submit and Print : Submit the application online between September 28, 2026, and October 27, 2026, and print a clear copy for future stages.

Selection Process

• Admit Card and Entry : Candidates must bring a clear and legible printout of their online application form and admit card to gain entry into the recruitment venue.

• Biometric Verification : Candidates must undergo thorough identity verification including biometric fingerprint capture before the start of the physical tests.

• Phase I - Physical Efficiency Test (PET) : Candidates must qualify event-specific physical trials (such as races, long jumps, and high jumps), which are qualifying in nature and exempted for Ex-Servicemen.

• Phase I - Physical Standard Test (PST) : Candidates who clear the PET undergo screening for Height, Chest (for males only), and Weight measurements, with options for same-day appeals.

• Phase II - Written Examination : Qualified candidates take a 100-mark objective type test covering General English, General Hindi, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude & Simple Reasoning, and Psychology.

• Merit Shortlisting : Category-wise merit lists are compiled from the written examination scores to shortlist candidates for documentation and medical tests.

• Phase III - Verification of Original Documents : Shortlisted candidates must present original testimonials, including educational certificates, date of birth proofs, category certificates, and identity proofs.

• Detailed Medical Examination (DME) : Candidates who clear documentation undergo a detailed medical examination to assess physical and mental fitness according to CAPF guidelines.

• Review Medical Examination (RME) : Candidates declared "UNFIT" during the DME are given the option to submit a written consent for a Review Medical Examination to rule out errors.
