Eligibility Conditions
Nationality / Citizenship : A candidate applying for recruitment in the Company must be either: - (i) a Citizen of India or (ii) a subject of Nepal or (iii) a subject of Bhutan or (iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) Person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Selection Process
Online Registration & Application Submission : Candidates must register and apply online through the official UIICL website within the stipulated window. Tier I : Preliminary Examination (Online Objective Test) : Eligible candidates appear for a 100-mark online objective test covering English Language, Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude. Tier II : Main Examination (Online Objective Test) : Candidates shortlisted from the preliminary exam take the main objective test tailored to their chosen discipline (Generalists or Hindi Officers). Tier II : Descriptive Test : Immediately following the objective paper, candidates complete an online descriptive test involving letter and essay writing (plus translation for Hindi Officers). Shortlisting for Interview : Candidates who qualify in the objective sections and clear the sectional and overall cut-offs are shortlisted for the interview stage up to three times the category-wise vacancies. Personal Interview : Shortlisted candidates participate in a face-to-face interview, evaluated on a 75:25 weightage split between the Main Examination and the Interview. Biometric & Document Verification : Candidates undergo digital photo and thumb impression captures alongside comprehensive verification of original educational, category, and identity credentials. Final Merit List & Medical Examination : A final merit list is compiled based on Main Exam and Interview scores, followed by a compulsory medical fitness check for provisional selection.
