How to Apply

  • Step 1 : Access the Portal – Visit the official BPSC online application portal at https://bpsconline.bihar.gov.in.

  • Step 2 : Start One Time Registration – Click on the "New User Registration" button to begin your One Time Registration (OTR).

  • Step 3 : Complete OTR and Verify – Enter your basic details using a valid mobile number and email ID, then verify them using the OTP received.

  • Step 4 : Digilocker Integration – Grant consent to link and sync your mandatory documents through your Meri Pehchan Digilocker account, or bypass it to proceed directly to the portal.

  • Step 5: Login to Dashboard – Log in to your candidate dashboard using your registered mobile number/email ID and the password you created.

  • Step 6 : Enter Personal & Address Details – Complete Profile Step 1 and Step 2 by filling in your personal info (category, disability, etc.) and your permanent and correspondence addresses.

  • Step 7 : Provide Legal & Qualification Background – Complete Profile Step 3 and Step 4 by declaring any criminal history and adding your academic details from 10th grade up to your law degree.

  • Step 8: Input Work Experience – Complete Profile Step 5 by entering details of your minimum 3-year bar practice experience or law clerk experience.

  • Step 9 : Capture Photo and Upload Signatures – Complete Profile Step 6 by capturing a live photo via webcam and uploading your scanned signatures in both Hindi and English (under 20kb).

  • Step 10 : Submit and Lock Profile – Check the declaration box, review your details, and click "Submit and Lock Profile" to make active advertisements visible.

  • Step 11 : Apply for the Exam – Go to the "New Application" tab, find the 33rd BJSE advertisement, click "View", select "Check Advertisement Criteria", and click "Submit & Pay Fees".

  • Step 12 : Pay Application Fee – Pay the registration fee of ₹100 (plus applicable bank charges) online, or an additional ₹200 biometric fee if you did not provide an Aadhaar number.

  • Step 13 : Download Final Application Form – Go to the "My Account" tab, click "Application Form Print", and download two hard copies of the submitted application ensuring they display your Application Number, ID, and Bar Code

Selection Process

  • Step 1 : Preliminary Examination (Objective/MCQ) – Candidates must clear this initial screening consisting of two papers: General Knowledge (100 marks) and Law (150 marks).

  • Step 2 : Written Main Examination (Subjective/Descriptive) – Shortlisted candidates from the preliminary exam (up to 10 times the number of vacancies) will appear for the main written exam, which includes compulsory and elective law papers.

  • Step 3 : Document Verification & Interview/Personality Test – Candidates successful in the written exam (called in a 1:3 ratio based on available seats) will undergo original document verification and a viva-voce interview of 100 marks.

  • Step 4 : Final Merit List Preparation – The final selection and merit list will be prepared based on the combined marks obtained by the candidates in both the Written Main Examination and the Interview.
