Anjali Arora faces legal action as Kanpur event organiser seeks Rs 1.20 crore in defamation claim

Social media influencer and actress Anjali Arora, who recently made headlines after videos from one of her events in Kanpur circulated online, has landed in legal trouble. During an event in Kanpur, the actress lost her cool after the DJ played ‘Kacha Badam’ while she was on stage. Later, the organiser slammed her for allegedly pulling a publicity stunt and spoiling the event.

Now, as per Amar Ujala, the organisers of the event have sent a legal notice to Anjali Arora for leaving the show midway. Another notice was sent to Anjali’s manager, Preeti Dubey, seeking Rs 1.20 crore in compensation and a public apology within 15 days for allegedly leaving the event midway.

Further, Advocate Karim Ahmed Siddiqui revealed that the demand for Rs 1 crore was for the defamation allegedly caused by Anjali, while an additional Rs 20 lakh was sought to cover the financial losses the organisers allegedly incurred due to her actions. According to the organisers, she was expected to stay on stage for 45 minutes and present mementoes to sponsors and special guests. However, they claim that her early exit offended the guests and caused financial losses.

What happened at the event?

The organisers claimed that Anjali received Rs 3 lakh for the event, while more than Rs 1 lakh was spent on her travel arrangements. As of now, Anjali hasn’t reacted to the legal notice.

The videos that went viral featured Anjali Arora on stage as ‘Kacha Badam’ played in the background. Soon after hearing the song, she turned around to speak to the DJ. One user wrote, “Anjali Arora got famous because of Kacha Badam, and now she’s getting angry at a DJ for playing the same song. What an irony.”

Another user wrote, “Logo ko apni pehchan se samasya hai… waah… yahi hai downfall….” A third user wrote, “You won’t get a life of respect, no matter how hard you try.”

The organiser claimed that he and the team behind the event had no idea that the song would offend the actress, as it was the main stepping stone in her journey to fame. Speaking to State Media 24, the event organiser accused Anjali of staging a publicity stunt.

Meanwhile, Anjali was recently seen playing the role of Sita in Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha. She was massively trolled after the film’s teaser was released. Earlier, she reacted to the criticism, saying that she did not feel upset by the backlash.
