ICC T20I rankings: Ishan Kishan takes massive jump to enter top 10 after heroics vs Pakistan, Abhishek, Varun stay at top

ICC T20I Rankings: Ishan Kishan has been the standout performer for India in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026, having helped the team maintain its undefeated streak in the tournament. On the back of victories over the USA, Namibia and the arch-rivals Pakistan, India have already made it to the Super 8s, and will be up against the Netherlands in their last Group A game at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

Having just made his return to the Indian team after a couple of years, Kishan has set the T20 World Cup on fire and is currently India's top run-getter with 158 runs to his name in three games at an average of 52.67. A few days after he produced a match-winning performance against Pakistan in Colombo, Kishan has taken a massive jump of 17 places to climb to the eighth position in the latest ICC T20I rankings.

Kishan has looked unstoppable ever since he replaced Sanju Samson at the top of the order following the latter's recent slump in the format. India took a massive gamble of keeping Kishan ahead of Samson as the other opener as a late change for the T20 World Cup 2026. However, the decision paid off and Kishan now already hass couple of crucial fifties under his belt.

Abhishek Sharma remains at top of ICC T20I rankings.

Playing his maiden T20 World Cup, star Indian opener Abhishek Sharma has had a disappointing tournament so far. Despite not scoring a single run in two games, Abhishek maintained his stay at the top of the ICC T20I rankings. Abhishek registered a first-ball duck in the opening game against the USA.

He had to miss the second match against Namibia due to illness. Amid heavy speculations around his fitness and availability for the Pakistan game, Abhishek played the match, but couldn't open his account, eventually getting dismissed for 0 by Salman Ali Agha in the first over of the match.

England's Phil Salt stand second in the rankings, whereas Sri Lanka's Pathum Nissanka has jumped to the third spot after his match-winning knock against Australia a few days back. His century played a major role in knocking Australia out of the competition. India's Tilak Varma (4th) and Suryakumar Yadav (6th) are the other two batters placed in the top 10 of the latest ICC T20I rankings.

On the other hand, Indian spinner Varun Chakravarthy has kept his dominance at the top of the ICC bowlers' rankings in the T20I format. He has taken six wickets in three matches in the T20 World Cup 2026 at an average of 8.
