Educational Qualifications & Post-Qualification Experience

Educational Qualifications (As on 31 October, 2026)

• Possessing a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Fire from the National Fire Service College located in Nagpur.

• Holding a Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree in Safety and Fire Engineering.

• Holding a Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree in Fire Technology and Safety Engineering.

• Possessing an equivalent four-year degree in Fire Safety from a university recognized by the UGC or an institution approved by the AICTE.

• Being a graduate member of the Institution of Fire Engineers in India or the UK.

• Having completed the Divisional Officers Course from the National Fire Service College in Nagpur.

Post-Qualification Experience (As on 31 October, 2026)

• For candidates possessing a Bachelor of Engineering in Fire from NFSC Nagpur, a Bachelor of Engineering or Technology in Safety and Fire Engineering, Fire Technology and Safety Engineering, or an equivalent four-year degree in Fire Safety: A minimum composite experience of two years working in the field of fire safety within a reputed organization.

• For candidates who are graduate members of the Institution of Fire Engineers (India or UK) or have completed the Divisional Officers Course from NFSC Nagpur: A minimum of three years of experience serving as a Station Officer or an equivalent post within a city or state fire brigade, functioning as an in-charge fire officer in corporate entities or large industrial complexes, or working as a fire officer in state government institutions or public sector undertakings.

General Eligibility Criteria

• Citizenship : Must be a citizen of India.

• Age Limits (As on 31 October, 2026) : A minimum age of 21 years and a maximum age of 40 years for unreserved category candidates, with upper age relaxations applicable to reserved categories according to guidelines issued by the Government of India.

• Medical Fitness : Candidates must be medically fit for the position.

Selection Process

1. Online Written Test

• Structure : The online objective test consists of two sections carrying a total of 125 questions for 125 marks, with a total duration of 2 hours.

  • English Language : 50 questions, 50 marks, 40 minutes duration.

  • Professional Knowledge : 75 questions, 75 marks, 80 minutes duration.

    • Note on Professional Knowledge Areas : Assesses knowledge in Fire Engineering (Divisional Officers course, Graduate member of Institution of Fire Engineers (India/UK), BE/B.Tech - Fire & Safety Engg), Fire Service Administration, and Fire Service Regulatory Acts / By-laws.

• Penalty for Wrong Answers : There is no penalty for wrong answers marked in the online written test.

• Admit Cards : Call letters for the online test are made available on the Bank's website for download.

2. Interview

• Shortlisting : Based on performance in the online written test, a category-wise adequate number of candidates (depending on the number of vacancies) who qualify the test will be called for an interview.

• Marks : The interview carries a maximum of 100 marks, and the qualifying marks are decided by the Bank.

• Call Letters : Intimation and call letters for the interview are sent via email or uploaded on the Bank's website (no hard copies are sent).

• Document Verification : Candidates reporting for the interview must undergo verification of all details and original documents (such as age, educational qualifications, and experience). Candidates found ineligible are neither allowed to appear for the interview nor reimbursed for travel expenses.

3. Merit List Calculation

• Final selection and the category-wise merit list are drawn in descending order based on normalized scores.

• The marks obtained in the online written test and the interview are normalized to a total of 100 marks using the following weightage :

  • Online Written Test (Objective) : Maximum 125 marks, normalized to 70 marks.

  • Interview : Maximum 100 marks, normalized to 30 marks.

  • Total Normalized Score : 100 marks.

• Tie-Breaking Rule: If more than one candidate scores the cut-off marks, they are ranked in the merit list according to their age in descending order.

4. Provisional Allotment & Medical Fitness

• Selected candidates are subject to being declared medically fit as per the requirements of the Bank.

• Appointment remains provisional and subject to the service and conduct rules of the Bank.
