Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

1. Nationality

Candidates must be one of the following:

• A citizen of India.

• A subject of Nepal or Bhutan.

• A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling.

• A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. (Note: Categories other than Indian citizens require an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India.)

2. Age Limits (as on April 1, 2026)

• Minimum Age : 21 years

• Maximum Age : 30 years

• Birth Window : Candidates must have been born between 01 April, 1996 and 01 April, 2005 (both days inclusive).

Upper Age Relaxations:

• SC / ST : 5 years

• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) : 3 years

• PwBD (Gen / EWS) : 10 years

• PwBD (SC / ST) : 15 years

• PwBD (OBC) : 13 years

3. Educational & Professional Qualifications (as on April 1, 2026)

• Qualifying Degree : Passed a Regular Full-Time Graduation degree in any discipline from a university/institution recognized by AICTE, DOTE, or UGC. Degree certificates or provisional certificates must be possessed as of April 1, 2026.

• NATS Profile : Must have a 100% complete profile on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal.

4. Disqualifications (When You Are NOT Eligible)

You are not eligible to apply under any of the following conditions:

• You possess a Post-Graduate Degree or have completed an integrated post-graduate course.

• You graduated from an institution not approved by AICTE, DOTE, or UGC.

• You have one year or more of work experience in any Government, Government Undertaking, or Private Organization as on April 1, 2026.

• You have already undergone or are currently pursuing Apprenticeship Training under the Apprentices Act, 1961, with NICL or any other organization.

How to Apply?

Category 'A' — For Students Already Enrolled in the NATS Portal

• Step 1 : Access Portal — Go to the NATS student portal at [https://nats.education.gov.in/index.php](https://nats.education.gov.in/index.php).

• Step 2 : Sign In — Log in using your registered email ID and password.

• Step 3 : Search Vacancy — Navigate to the "Apply against advertised vacancies" section and search for "NATIONAL INSURANCE COMPANY LTD".

• Step 4 : Submit Application — Click "Apply" to complete your submission, ensuring your application status shows as "applied".

Category 'B' — For First-Time Enrollment

• Step 1 : Open Portal — Navigate to [https://nats.education.gov.in/index.php](https://nats.education.gov.in/index.php) and click on "Student".

• Step 2 : Register — Click on "Regular Student", select "Student Registration", and completely fill out the application form.

• Step 3 : Obtain ID — Note down the generated 12-digit unique Enrollment Number.

• Step 4 : Log In — Log in with your newly created email ID and password credentials.

• Step 5 : Locate and Apply — Go to "Apply against advertised vacancies", search for "NATIONAL INSURANCE COMPANY LTD", and click "Apply".

Mandatory Document Uploads & Profile Guidelines

• Required Documents — Clearly upload your Degree Certificate, Provisional Certificate, Consolidated Mark sheet, Aadhaar Card, Bank Passbook (in your name), and a latest passport-size photograph.

• Profile Accuracy — Ensure your NATS student profile details (Candidate's Name, Parents' Names, Aadhaar Number, and educational qualifications) exactly match your educational and official documents.

• Percentage Entry — Compulsorily enter your percentage of marks in the "% of marks / CGPAx10" column on the NATS portal using your provisional certificate or consolidated mark sheet.

Selection Process

• Step 1 : Online Application Submission — Candidates must submit their applications online through the NATS portal on or before the closing date of 18 November, 2026.

• Step 2 : Shortlisting by BOPT — The Board of Practical Training (Eastern Region) shortlists candidates from the online application data based on the percentage of marks (up to two decimal places) secured in the qualifying Graduate Degree Examination.

• Step 3 : Tie-Breaker Resolution — In cases where two or more candidates secure the same percentage of marks, their position in the merit list is determined by their date of birth, placing older candidates higher in the order of merit.

• Step 4 : Email Intimation — Shortlisted candidates are intimated solely through their registered email IDs with details regarding the next stages.

• Step 5 : Document Verification — Shortlisted candidates must appear in person for the verification of original documents at designated regional offices of National Insurance Co. Ltd.

• Step 6 : Final Engagement List — The final engagement list is prepared after verifying all details against original documents, subject to the availability of state-wise vacancies and successful execution of the Apprenticeship Contract.
