British footballers try Korean fried chicken & beer for the first time! 🇰🇷🍗⚽️
Last year, I introduced Korean BBQ to the British football team. This time, I wanted to introduce Korean chicken that comes to mind when you think of football. So, we went to the stadium with our favorite chicken shop and chicken made with Gabi's help. Have you guys ever had Korean food before? First time. Yeah, can't say I have either. I did it during the last one, but I see it, and yeah, I'm excited to try some stuff. Fantastic. Well, today we're going to be trying something which you might not think of when you think Korean food, and that is fried chicken. What are you guys' experience of fried chicken? KFC mostly, but I've never seen anything, especially like the one on the right. My mouth is salivating right now. It's so wet. I would start with your plain fried chicken first. I'll tell you what, compared to KFC, this just blows it out of the park, I mean. Yeah, much better. I'm no Gordon Ramsay, but this is premium. That dunks all over KFC. What is KFC after eating this? I don't think I've ever had fried chicken before actually. That tastes premium. I mean, even this is a bit spicy, isn't it? Is it? Yeah. Okay. It's got some spices, a bit of pepper. I can sit here all day. Can we just call training off? Next up, yangnyeom. Yangnyeom. Yangnyeom, I'm ready. A little bit of crushed peanuts. I can't eat that. Oh, you have allergy? I have a lot allergy, yeah. I just can't eat it. Don't worry about smelling it. It's fine. Is it just me then, this one? Yeah, it's just you, bro. Sorry, mate. Sorry. Oh my days, that sauce, what's the sauce? It's called Yangnyeom sauce. This is more like Maastricht, this one, it's got the sauce on it, it's spiky, it's, yeah. No, this is a different level to your normal chicken shop in the UK. Yeah. Wow. Because this is really hot. You're not missing anything mate. This is unreal. It's so good. It's actually so good. Right, I think I have an EpiPen in my bag, can't use that. I can't lie, though. Just the crispy fried was sweet, but... The sauces, the sauces, that's nuts. Is there a recipe for this? Definitely, you can find one online. So my mum's a chef. You know what, mum? You're slacking, because whether they know you're in Korea, you're a couple of levels behind right now. Wow. When you have fried chicken, is there anything you'd normally pair it with? Chips probably. Chicken and chips. Chips. Yeah, it is chicken and chips, isn't it? Well, in Korea, every single fried chicken shop is going to sell maekju. Maekju is Korean for beer. Oh, now we're talking. Is this going to be our first beer together? It could well be our last. Oh no, I anticipate that definitely being the case. So if you go to a football game in Korea... Don't tell me that's fried chicken. Everyone is eating fried chicken and beer. Right, what's in the game? What do you want me to do? I don't care what the score is. This training session is cancelled for me now. I'm getting faded. Cheers! You can say Kombay. Kombay, Kombay, Kombay all. Oh, that beer's good as well and it's cold. Yeah, that is lovely. It's a nice beer. It's not got like a really distinct beer-y flavour, but it's quite nice as a palate cleanser. That's it. I'm loving the beer. Cloud, you like with that? I might start a brewery and just get on it. Yeah! You want to branch out into the UK market, I've got ideas. All you've got to do is pay me in clout. Yeah, okay. That was decent. Pay me in clout. Pay me some clout. Yeah. No. Try it with a bit of the chicken. Does a beer pair with something, yeah? Does it? Does it? I don't know. It's a nice beer, I'm just saying. I can see pairing wine with beer, yeah. What it is, it's the cold beer that sort of washes down the grease. See if you can get on board with the Chimek combination. The chee-meh. Yeah, that does work. I was going to try and think of a diplomatic way to say, no I just don't get it, but as I tasted that, that does actually work. I love it. This paired with this dish, that's a proper combo. We ain't moving. I swear the UK is the last to find out about all the decent food combinations, what are we doing? We're not lost, we don't know anything. No lie to you, that's the truth. I'd be in Korea literally just saying, I'm not here to see the sights, I'm not here to see anything else. Take me to the best chicken shop. Dip the sauce in your mouth and then eat one. Oh my days. And then have the beer after, oh. Mm-mm, I'm telling you now. I've gotten clear. Well, these are your most basic flavors. You're saying that's basic, that one? Yeah, in Korea it is, yeah. We have some other flavors as well. Oh my god. Are you looking at this presentation? Oh my gosh. We can't eat that. That's too beautiful. We have honey garlic, garlic mayo, and bulgogi. That goes with everything, I guarantee it. You and the beer. I'm loving the beer, it's lovely. Wash it down with a bit of beer. Next up, garlic mayo. That looks like a glazed donut. I mean, I'll tell you what, it does not look appetising. But, I'm not going to make any judgements here. This is how you do it, bro. This is how you do it. That's the best one, I think, so far. That's a strong 10. Yeah, that's my one. That's my one right there. That is good. I absolutely love that. Ram your street, that one, isn't it? There's no heat in there. I'm not even going to bite back, that's so good, that's so good. He's not disagreeing, is he? There's nothing like what a pulled apple's going to taste like. No closed donut. No. I like that, this has got a nice aftertaste. I mean, yeah, but I wouldn't eat it going on a date. This is real garlic, that's a lot. If I'm on Korea and I'm going to a date, we're eating everything. That's good garlic mayo. I only know garlic mayo is a dip on my side order with Domino's. No! Garlic mayo. We have garlic. I'm going to go to Tesco and get garlic mayo. Why does my garlic mayo taste like this? That is something else. I think that's my favourite one by a good distance. I still think I like the honey one better. Listen, I'm back with honey garlic. Wow, alright. I can't believe I'm sitting down washing it down with a beer sitting here as well. There's another accompaniment to Korean chicken. A bit of moo. These look like pieces of melon. I'm going to say like sugar ice cubes. Is that a thing? Can I just try one on its own? Go for it, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I like that. Yeah. Refreshing. It takes the stickiness away and stuff. Goes well with the chicken. Nice. Banging combination. You like that? It's actually radish. It's like a pickled radish, yeah. I don't even usually like radish. This whole video needs to be retitled to exposing the UK. The UK, yeah, 100%. What do we eat fried chicken with? Blue cheese sauce, that's about it. That's the most exotic. Why am I not eating radishes with my fried chicken? It sort of cleanses the palate. Yeah, I don't know. It's a palate cleanser. It's not cleansing my palate, it's a palate cleanser. I mean, I could go for all of that. What, that? Yeah, I could just sit there. That's fine, you say that, and I'll say, yeah, my chicken. I'm looking forward to this one, though. This one's got kick on it. All right, last one. Volcano. I'm sorry, did I hear you say, oh sorry, I might have missed this before, but that's Volcano. That's Volcano, yeah. Right, cool. Okay. In Korea, if you're really craving some spice, this is the sort of level you'll go for in Korea, yeah. Last one. You said I wanted to send it, so. It actually tastes really nice. No, really nice. I don't tend to like spice, flavor, or heat, but... That's nice. This milk is, this is my favorite thing at the moment. This milk. Well, that is...
