Virat Kohli's dig meets Harpreet Brar's frosty silence in heated IPL moment | Watch

Ace India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Virat Kohli’s cheeky conversation with Punjab Kings’ Harpreet Brar was met with ice-cold silence, as the two teams faced off in a crucial game at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.

Carrying forward the confidence from the KKR match into the clash against PBKS in Dharamsala, Kohli began well and put the bowlers under pressure with his intent at the crease.

Kohli looked in complete control, rotating the strike while keeping the scoreboard ticking with authority.

Alongside his fluent batting, Kohli also brought his trademark intensity and energy to the middle. During the high-pressure clash, he was involved in two animated moments with Brar during the innings.

The incident occurred on the fifth delivery of the ninth over when Azmatullah Omarzai bowled a back-of-a-length ball that Kohli nudged towards point. Spotting a chance for a quick single, Kohli set off, but non-striker Devdutt Padikkal sent him back after noticing Brar charging towards the ball.

By then, Kohli had already ventured well down the track and was left stranded midway. Rather than scrambling back in panic, he stood his ground and locked eyes with Brar, almost daring him to go for the direct hit.

Brar, though, decided against taking the risk, knowing a wayward throw could lead to overthrows and gift away crucial runs. With PBKS already under scrutiny for their inconsistent fielding this season, he chose caution over an unnecessary gamble in a high-pressure situation.

Meanwhile, Brar celebrated throughout the game after picking up the crucial wickets of Jacob Bethell and Padikkal.

Later in the game, Kohli approached Brar with a smile after the end of the 14th over and appeared to say something, but the PBKS spinner walked on. Watch the video here:

It wasn’t the first on-field exchange between Kohli and Brar. The duo had shared a similar moment last season, too, with the former leading the banter while Brar responded with nothing more than a smile.
