According to sources, the three shooters, Phool Singh, 19, Rehan Ansari, 19, and Rithik Mahato, 22, told investigators that in the first week of October, they allegedly received instructions from Lawrence Bishnoi gangster Anil Pandit to identify potential targets, including actors Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan.

The accused allegedly recced these actors but failed to locate them or found it difficult to get close to them. Pandit subsequently, through voice notes, instructed them to target Tiger Shroff, son of actor Jackie Shroff.

During the second week of October, the accused allegedly learnt that Tiger regularly worked out at MMV Matrix Gym, owned by his family, on Linking Road in Khar.

The shooters reportedly spotted the actor outside the gym on one occasion but were not prepared to carry out the attack.

“They decided to return the next day at the same time, but Tiger did not turn up. They then asked an auto-rickshaw driver where they could get to see filmstars. The driver allegedly told them that they could spot Tiger Shroff at a ground near Pushpa Park in Juhu where he regularly comes to play football,” a source said.

Acting on this information, the shooters allegedly lay in wait at the ground on October 11, but Tiger did not arrive. They subsequently returned on October 18, allegedly armed and prepared to execute the attack.

The firing left Tiger’s driver and a vlogger injured, while the actor escaped with minor injuries. The police are now looking for the auto-rickshaw driver so that they can make him a witness in the case.
