How to Apply
One-Time Registration (OTR) : Visit the official website upsconline.nic.in and complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) profile if you haven't already. Login & Apply : Log in using your registered credentials (Email/Mobile/OTR ID + OTP). Fill Application Form : Select the "IES/ISS Examination 2026" link and fill in personal, educational, and contact details carefully. Upload Documents : Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and photo identity card in the specified formats. Pay Fee : Pay the application fee of ₹200 (General / OBC / EWS) via online modes (net banking, card, or UPI). Female, SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are exempted from the fee. Submit & Print : Review all details and submit the form. Download and print the confirmation page for future reference.
Selection Process
1. Written Examination (Marks) The written exam consists of six papers, held offline in pen-and-paper mode: Common Papers (200 marks) : General English (100) and General Studies (100). Subject-Specific Papers (800 marks) : IES : General Economics-I, II, III, and Indian Economics. ISS : Statistics-I & II (Objective), and Statistics-III & IV (Descriptive). 2. Personality Test / Viva Voce (Marks) Candidates qualifying in the written examination are summoned for a viva voce, which evaluates their subject knowledge, critical thinking, and suitability for the service. 3. Selection Process & Final Merit Documentation : Candidates must pass document verification to verify eligibility (Age: 21–30 years, Postgraduate for IES/Degree with Statistics for ISS). Medical Evaluation : A medical examination ensures fitness. Merit List : Final selection is based on the aggregate marks from the written exam and the interview.
