Educational Qualification

(i) For Army Wing of National Defence Academy : - 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

(ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy :- 12th Class pass

with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of the 10+2 pattern of School

Education or equivalent conducted by a State Education Board or a University. Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination

How to Apply?

  • Online Registration : Visit the official UPSC Online Application portal at https://upsconline.nic.in to begin the process.

  • Universal Registration Number (URN) Creation : Complete the one-time registration to generate your permanent URN, providing a valid photo ID (Aadhaar Card is strongly recommended).

  • Common Application Form (CAF) & Modules : Fill out the CAF and examination-specific modules by uploading required documents, including clear signatures in black ink and a live photograph.

  • Fee Payment : Pay the required application fee of Rs. 100/- via net banking, debit/credit card, or UPI, noting that SC, ST, female candidates, and eligible wards of JCOs/NCOs/ORs are exempt.

  • Final Submission & Retention : Submit your application online before 06:00 P.M. on 9th June 2026 and safely retain both your URN and the dynamic Application Number for future reference.

Selection Process

  • Online Application & Registration : Candidates register on the UPSC portal using their Universal Registration Number (URN), fill out the Common Application Form (CAF), complete the examination-specific module, and pay the requisite fee (if applicable).

  • Written Examination : Eligible candidates download their e-Admit Cards and appear for the objective-type written examination covering Mathematics and the General Ability Test (GAT).

  • SSB Interview & Intelligence Test : Candidates who clear the written cut-off register on the Indian Army recruitment website and undergo a rigorous two-stage Services Selection Board (SSB) interview, which includes psychological tests, group tasks, and an interview.

  • Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) : Candidates opting for the Air Force Flying Branch who clear the SSB and express willingness must additionally qualify the CPSS/Pilot Aptitude Test.

  • Medical Examination : Candidates recommended by the SSB undergo a comprehensive medical examination by a Board of Service Medical Officers to determine physical and mental fitness.

  • Final Merit List & Service Allocation : A final combined merit list is prepared based on total marks from the written exam and SSB tests, followed by service allocation according to merit, medical fitness, and candidate preferences.
