A visit to one of the most beautiful rocky mountains- Spiti Valley- is almost never disappointing when it comes to mesmerising its visitors. However, the journey turned further ‘magical’ for this group of tourists, after they ended up spotting a rather rare sight in the most unexpected manner: a snow leopard! Taking to social media, one of the tourists shared a video of the majestic cat casually strolling on the road. After spotting the vehicle full of humans, the furry one surprisingly did not run away, but instead continued to lead the way, as the tourists drove behind the cat while also maintaining a good distance. As soon as the clip was shared online, it went viral and left people reacting.

Most netizens dubbed the tourists ‘lucky’, as a snow leopard encounter is extremely rare, while some appreciated them for not trying to be too close to the big cat.

Times Now could not confirm the exact date and location of the incident.

“On 5th May 2025, between 6 to 7 PM, while travelling from Kaza to Nako, around 8–10 km after crossing Tabo, we witnessed something unforgettable — a snow leopard on the road! These rare creatures are hardly ever seen, especially in May. It stood there calmly, blending into the rocky Spiti landscape. Truly a magical moment of our journey,” the post read.

The video was shared on Instagram by the handle ‘JATIN GUPTA | EXPLORER’. The post was shared 2 days ago and pulled more than 226K likes from people.
