Rinku Singh was the star of Kolkata Knight Riders' Super Over win over Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow on Sunday. As the India T20I star produced an all-round performance on the field, his fiance and Samajwadi Party MP from Machhlishahr, Priya Saroj, cheered him on from the stands at the Ekana Stadium. Watching from the stands, Priya was seen celebrating his late onslaught before later dedicating the knock to Rinku's late father, Khanchand Singh. Kolkata Knight Riders shared a video capturing Priya's celebrations and her poignant tribute.
After the match, Rinku was seen waving at Priya, who was in the stands with her friends. In a clip shared by the Knight Riders, the pair shared a warm embrace after the left-handed batter collected the Player of the Match award. Engaged last year, Rinku and Priya are set to tie the knot in June 2026.
Priya's heartfelt message served as a tribute to Rinku's father, who passed away following illness during India's T20 World Cup campaign in February.
On Sunday in Lucknow, KKR secured victory after the match was tied at 155, keeping their play-off hopes alive in a tightly packed table. Rinku was at the centre of almost every decisive moment â first with an unbeaten 83 off 51 balls, and then with as many as five catches, including one in the Super Over.

KKR were in trouble when Rinku arrived at 73 for 5 in the 11th over. Until then, LSG had controlled proceedings through Mohsin Khan, who finished with a five-wicket haul and had reduced the visitors to a precarious position. Rinku changed the course of the innings, striking seven fours and five sixes in an unbeaten knock that lifted KKR to 155 for 7.
The defining burst came in the final over from Digvesh Rathi, when Rinku hit four consecutive sixes to push KKR to what proved a defendable total. He later made a significant impact in the field as well, producing a game-changing effort-tipping the ball back in from beyond the boundary before re-entering the field to complete the catch in time.
LSG's chase followed a similarly uneven path. They appeared to have slipped out of contention before Mohammed Shami struck a six off the final ball of the 20th over to level the scores at 155 and force a Super Over.
In the Super Over, Sunil Narine put KKR in control, conceding just one run and taking two wickets. Rinku then came out and sealed the match immediately, striking a boundary off the first ball of KKR's reply.
The result earned KKR two points and kept them firmly in the play-off race, but the match ultimately turned on one player rescuing an innings from 73 for 5 and then finishing the job in the Super Over. For Rinku, it was a Player of the Match performance defined by batting, fielding and composure under pressure.
