Security scare at Bengaluru stadium: 2 staffers cut 240 CCTV feeds on IPL match day

A major security breach was reported at Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium during the IPL 2026 clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans, after nearly 240 CCTV camera feeds were allegedly disabled. According to police, two employees of subcontractor IVS Digital Solutions, identified as Manjunath E and Abdul Kalam, gained unauthorised access to the stadium's CCTV server room using a deactivated access card and without a valid entry pass.

The duo allegedly cut NVR and fibre connections, disrupting surveillance across key areas including entry gates, concourses, the D Corporate Stand, and surrounding premises. While the breach impacted real-time monitoring during the match, authorities said alternative security arrangements were put in place swiftly, ensuring the game proceeded without incident. A case has been registered at Cubbon Park police station, and further investigation is currently underway.
