The launch of the iPhone SE 4 is currently the most anticipated by both Apple fans and tech journalists like us. And there are reasons to be this amped up about the launch. The SE-series by Apple is known for its affordable price tag. So that's the first big reason. And what makes it one of the most anticipated launches of 2025 are the upgrades that are rumoured, including an iPhone 14-like design, an OLED panel, Face ID and the fact that it is tipped to be the most affordable iPhone to offer Apple Intelligence. Now, while there is no official information yet, recent reports indicate that the iPhone SE 4 could launch as soon as today.
Without giving out the exact date, last week, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported that the iPhone SE 4 could launch this week, along with the PowerBeats Pro 2. He also highlighted that Apple might not be interested in hosting an event and will launch the iPhone SE 4 with just a press release, as it does for its iPads.

iPhone SE 4: Expected specs and features
Before we deep dive into the details, the previous narrative around the phone was that Apple might get away with "SE" altogether. Instead, it might rebrand it as the iPhone 16e. Now, the iPhone SE 4 or iPhone 16e is set for a major makeover, moving away from its classic small design with thick bezels and a Touch ID home button. This time, it's expected to look more like the iPhone 14, swapping Touch ID for Face ID.

Another exciting upgrade is the display. Instead of the older LCD screen, the iPhone SE 4 is rumoured to feature a larger 6.1-inch OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate, a big step up from the 4.7-inch screen on its predecessor.
Leaked images suggest the phone will keep the SE series' signature single-camera setup, but with a big upgrade. The rear camera is rumoured to jump from 12-megapixel to 48-megapixel, while the front camera could get a boost to 24-megapixel.

Apple is also making changes to the body, ditching the rounded edges for a boxier design similar to recent iPhones. The power button will likely remain on the right side, just like on the iPhone 14.
There's some debate about whether it will include the Dynamic Island feature, but it could be possible since the iPhone SE 4 is expected to run on Apple's A18 chip, the same processor found in the iPhone 16 series. The phone is also said to come with 8GB of RAM and support Apple Intelligence, making it the most affordable iPhone with AI-powered features.
iPhone SE 4: India price (Speculation)
Pricing is a key factor in the iPhone SE 4's appeal. Reports suggest it could start at $499 (around Rs 44,000), similar to the launch price of the iPhone SE 3 in India, which was Rs 43,900. However, the SE 3 later saw a price increase to Rs 49,900 due to higher taxes, so the final pricing of the SE 4 could also be affected by market conditions.
