All New Toyota RAV4 Makes Sense For India
Toyota currently has the Fortuner, Innova and the Camry while also some high-end products but a new premium suv along with the Fortuner can be a big hit too. We are talking about the new RAV4 which has just made its debut. The 6th gen model has a sharper look and comes with hybrid or plugin hybrid versions. A new hybrid system is standard and that is a 226bhp or there is a more powerful AWD version too.
Toyota has also added a plugin hybrid which is equally powerful. Meanwhile, design wise, a GR sport trim is there which has a sportier look while the typical new C shape design has been carried over from the likes of the new Camry. The interior too is all new and gains a larger 12.9 inch touchscreen along with more technology. The RAV4 size wise neatly fits into the scheme of things in being a premium hybrid SUV sold alongside the Fortuner.
We think there is a clear market for this SUV and if launched it will be do well. Toyota also once was evaluating the launch of the previous generation model but with this new updated one it makes sense to bring this instead.
There is a clear gap for a premium hybrid SUV although the price would be an issue as it would be closer to the likes of the Lexus models but with Camry and the Lexus ES existing, the RAV4 in this new guise should be popular being sold alongside the Lexus NX. The appeal of the Toyota badge and the hybrid SUV combo is a big market opportunity and we hope Toyota considers bringing this model to India.
