Wall Street turns desi: Grand Indian wedding takes over NYC
New York's Wall Street got a desi makeover with this grand Indian wedding procession. The video showed nearly 400 guests grooving through lower Manhattan, with the bride in a red lehenga and the groom in a beige sherwani, stealing the spotlight. Dressed in bright traditional Indian outfits, the crowd danced with thumping DJ beats, momentarily turning the financial hub into a vibrant wedding venue. Posted by DJ AJ on 29th May 2025, The video shows Bharati's vibing while Wall Street watched confused but entertained the viral wedding. Bharat belongs to Varun Navani, CEO of AI platform Reli, and Amanda Sole, a legal compliance director. The couple, based in Boston, chose to get married in New York City. And they didn't just go big online, they went big on budget too. City records show they filed 28 permits for the event, likely spending 25,000 to $66,000, roughly 21 to 56,00,000 per location to shut down parts of the Financial District. Large events like this require full St. closures, permits, and even NYPD coordination depending on their scale. Though the Internet largely cheered the vibrant celebration, some felt it clashed with the fast-paced flow of one of the world's busiest streets. What's your thoughts on this? Tell us in the comments.
