Bengaluru Namma Metro Services To Begin At 3.30 AM On Sunday For TCS World 10K Run; Details

Bengaluru Namma Metro Update: The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) on Friday announced that the metro train services will start early on Sunday to help citizens participating in the 17th edition of the TCS World 10K Run. It stated that the services will begin at 3.30 am, three-and-a-half hours ahead of the usual time on regular Sundays. The BMRCL further stated that the trains from all the terminal stations and Majestic will operate at a 12-minute frequency during the extended period.

"Trains from all four Metro terminals and Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station (Majestic) will run at a 12-minute frequency during this extended period. While this initiative aims to provide convenient transportation, it will also be an incentive for individuals to participate in the marathon in large numbers and promote a healthier and more integrated community," BMRCL stated.

Traffic Police Releases Advisory For TCS World 10K Run

Apart from this, the traffic police also announced that several key routes will remain closed on Sunday from 5 am to 10 am to manage the crowd. While providing details, it stated that several stations, including St John's Road (Dickenson Road to Veerapalli Street), Kamaraj Road (Cubbon Road to Dickenson Junction), and Dickenson Road (Manipal Centre Junction to Webbs Junction and Ulsoor Road to Dobhi Ghat).

Apart from this, several other roads will remain closed, including Kasturba Road (Hudson Junction to Siddalingaiah Junction), Siddalingaiah Circle to Queens Circle (west direction), Queens Road, BR Ambedkar Road (east direction), Cubbon Road (south direction), MG Road (north direction), and inside Cubbon Park will remain closed in the given time period.

Earlier on Thursday, the BMRCL officials stated that the Red Line of the Bengaluru metro will provide relief to the residents of several key regions, including Koramangala, St. John’s, Madiwala, Dairy Circle, KR Circle, Golf Course, and Mekhri Circle.

They further stated that these regions are not effectively connected with the metro currently, leading to traffic congestion in the peak hours. However, they assured that the Red Line will help in reducing the traffic congestion and will provide convenience.
